Airport to City Center
To get from the airport to the city center, you can either take the City Airport Train (CAT), or the express train S7. Tickets for both options can be bought at the airport - look for the green "CAT" ticket vending machine or the red "ÖBB" ticket vending machine. The ticket for the S7 train is much cheaper, but the ride to the city center takes a few minutes longer. A guide for getting from the airport to the venue is given in this pdf. Public Transport in Vienna
To the Conference Venue
The venue of the conference is located in the 1st district of Vienna, at the Austrian Academy of Sciences, Dr.-Ignaz-Seipel-Platz 2 ( Google Maps Link ).
Via public transport, you can reach it by taking the subway to one of the following stations:
Stubentor (Subway Line 3 - U3)
Stephansplatz (Subway Lines 1 and 3 - U1 and U3)
Schwedenplatz (Subway Lines 1 and 4 - U1 and U4)
You can reach the venue by walk within around 5 to 10 minutes from these stations.
If you arrive directly from the airport, you can reach the conference venue via a 10 minutes walk from "Landstraße - Wien Mitte", where the train from the airport arrives.
To the Welcome Reception Venue
The welcome reception of the conference will take place at the Stefan Meyer Institute for subatomic physics, Boltzmanngasse 3 ( Google Maps Link ).
The closest tramway stations are:
Sensengasse (Tramway Lines 37, 38, 40, 41, 42)
Spitalgasse (Tramway Lines 5, 33, 37, 38)
If you arrive directly from the airport, the best way to reach the welcome reception venue is to get out of the train from the aiport at "Landstraße - Wien Mitte". There you have to change to the subway line U4 going in the direction "Heiligenstadt". Get out at station "Friedensbrücke" and change to the traway lines 5 (direction "Westbanhhof") or 33 (direction "Josefstädterstraße"). Get out 3 stops later at "Spitalgasse/Währingerstraße". You can reach the welcome reception venue with a 5 minutes walk.
